Happy Easter and congratulations, dear graduates!
I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with quite a number of you since I assumed office last March 1. Rather brief interactions but these enabled me to listen and learn from each one. Thank you for the warm welcome and the heartwarming feedback about your FEU educational experience.
Soon you will seek employment. Do pursue your passion in life. To my network in the corporate jungle and in the academic arena, I brag about you as being “street smart with a big heart.” I tell them about how your decisions in life will be guided by the university core values of Fortitude (Be Brave), Excellence (Get Better), and Uprightness (Do Good).
Bring with you and cherish the many, meaningful, and memorable memories from this idyllic 10-hectare campus. Come back from time to time and share your success stories with us . . . or even to simply say hello to your dedicated teachers and to “Ate Jessa.” And, yes, the “Countdown to 25” or FEU Diliman’s silver anniversary in 2019 is something to look forward to.
Let me send you off with Six Powerful Daily Questions (from the best seller, Triggers) of the world’s number 1 life coach, Marshall Goldsmith—
DID I DO MY BEST TO:
1. be happy?
2. find meaning?
3. be fully engaged?
4. build positive relationships?
5. set clear goals?
6. make progress toward goal achievement?
Answer these questions truthfully before going to bed. And you will feel the tremendous joy of winning ways. And do remember to always give big thanks to our Lord for His countless blessings.
Go now, dear graduates, from FEU Diliman into the world. No doubt that your lives have been transformed in more ways than one. Your turn now to transform lives in your family, your community, our country, and even our shrinking global village.
Let’s go, Tamaraws, let’s go!! God bless you always.
In omnibus amare et servire Domino,
PROF. T. S. DAVID, Ph.D.
