To the FEU Diliman Community,
We regret to inform everyone that at around 12:00 noon on 27 June 2017, a fire tree fell without prior indications and unfortunately caused injury to three of our students. These students were rushed immediately after the said incident to the FEU NRMF Hospital. We are closely monitoring the condition of the two who are still confined in the said hospital.
We are in constant communication with the parents of the affected students. FEU Diliman ensures that they shall receive the appropriate and necessary medical care and attention until they shall have fully recovered from the injuries suffered.
As a precautionary measure, we have suspended all classes today, 28 June 2017. We will reassess the condition of all the trees, buildings and facilities in the campus. Rest assured that we will do everything necessary to ensure that incidents of this nature shall not happen again in the future.
We will convene the ManCom to review all your concerns and suggestions. We do appreciate all your constructive feedback and we will act on them accordingly. Likewise, we take this opportunity to thank the faculty, staff and security personnel who have performed well beyond the call of their respective duties to ensure that the affected students are afforded immediate care and assistance.
We are truly sorry and saddened by this incident. We enjoin everyone in the FEU Diliman community to fervently pray as one family for the full recovery of the two students seriously affected by this unforeseen and unfortunate occurrence.
Very truly yours,
Albert III R. Cabasada
OIC Executive Director
