The ICON is one of the official student publications in FEU Diliman. Its central goal is to give legitimate, solid, and transparent news articles dedicated to the Tertiary department. The ICON commits itself to developing professional and exemplary work ethics, to contribute to the holistic development of the students whom we serve, with the end goal of creating individuals with integrity and capable of transformative learning and social mindfulness.
ICON started as Fernian Chronicles Literary Club (FCLC) in 2009, which focused on producing a souvenir magazine. However, it did not materialize due to a lack of commitment and engagement from the students. In 2014, it was revived with the initiative of the Student Development Associate, Mr. James Catayas under the name of Caelum. It was in 2015 that it changed its name to ICON. In 2017, under the initiative of Student Development Head, Ms. Cecille del Rosario, Marketing and Communications Associate, Mr. Hency Macapas, and the able leadership of EIC Samantha Siojo, the ICON was brought to life.
The ICON, with a staff of dedicated and more vibrant student correspondents, is determined to give trustworthy school-based information, online news portals, and literary excellence.
The logo of ICON represents the FEU core values of Fortitude, Excellence, and Uprightness. The circle represents the mission of the ICON which is to provide reliable, authentic, and bias-free scripts to the FEU Diliman tertiary department.
